Trade equities from U.S. and international companies on one blockchain-powered stock trading app
By Vanessa Malone
Upstream is a next generation stock trading app part of MERJ Exchange. Powered by blockchain technology, Upstream gives investors (excluding U.S. persons) direct exchange access to equities from U.S. and international companies.
U.S. persons may not deposit, buy, or sell securities on Upstream. Anyone may buy and sell Collectibles on Upstream.
Global investors can trade anytime, anywhere with…
- Streamlined onboarding and account funding with a debit/credit card, PayPal, digital currency, and USD funding ramps
- Expanded trading hours 20 hours a day, 5 days a week
- Instant trades and settlements with transparent orderbooks showing best bids and offers
- No market manipulation techniques enforced by design for a fairer trading ecosystem
What opportunities are made available on Upstream?
- Dual listed stocks (stocks listed on multiple exchanges). Access dual listed companies that are listed on other national exchanges and Upstream’s userfriendly stock market. This means streamlined access to global equities.
- IPOs (new stock listings). Participate in Initial Public Offerings for companies at the same price as Wall Street. With other popular trading apps, you’re able to place a “Pre-IPO” order but you’re not participating in the IPO, you’re just entering your orders for when trading begins. On Upstream, investors have the ability to order shares before the IPO closes and before trading begins. Upstream IPOs securities are registered, unrestricted securities free to trade on the Upstream app the next trading day following the IPO close.
- Brand ventures. Become a brand ambassador by owning fractionalized shares of a brand, or team. Upstream enables brands with an active community to give fans ownership in the project.
- Crowdfunded companies. Unlock liquidity in historically illiquid investments. Upstream offers crowdfunded companies to list and give early investors liquidity potential.
- Digital coupons. Claim and redeem digital coupons from issuers who award digital coupons. These coupons can be claimed directly in the Upstream app and redeemed to try the Company’s products, access events; or they can sell the coupon to other Upstream users on the Upstream trading app.
- Digital collectibles. Create, buy and sell digital collectibles with other Upstream traders to build your digital portfolio. Collectibles can represent ownership of a unique digital item including art, tickets, exclusive content and more.

Collectible products are akin to a digital sticker of an underlying artwork and should not be considered a financial investment; a security token, an e-money token, or a form of digital currency. Collectibles should not, therefore, be purchased by anyone seeking financial gain or with an expectation to profit from the purchase, ownership in the entity, dividends or distributions, sale or resale of a Collectible.
